From day one our mission has never wavered. We are passionate about helping those who lack affordable computer access and connecting them to the digital world. This was a fun project. Through a grant provided by Security Bank, we were able to get in front of the camera to bring our story to life. Thank you Height Media
David Fowler was asked to join our leadership team in 2008. Since then, he has expanded our reach and ability to better serve our community by engaging with more corporate donors and charitable organizations.
Joshua Hawkes has been with Computer Banc since 2012. After completing his Bachelor's degree in Computer Networking, he started volunteering and has helped grow and expand Computer Banc's technical capabilities since.
Jason Hensen joined our team in 2019 through one of our on the job training programs. He now facilitates the ever growing needs of our inventory management , and he also trains others coming through our various on the job training programs.
Computer Banc began in 1999 with the support of a local Springfield (IL) church, and immediately began to grow.
Computer Banc received not-for-profit status.
Computer Banc moved to a larger facility in the rear of the Catholic Charities building at 11th and Washington. That giant step forward gave us the space to expand operations and provide more computers.
Computer Banc became a Nonprofit Microsoft Registered Refurbisher, which allows us to provide fully-licensed Windows operating systems on the computers we provide. Computer Banc is the largest Nonprofit Microsoft Registered Refurbisher in Illinois
Computer Banc set another new record, providing over 1800 computers in a single year. This brings the organization's total distribution over 10 years to almost 5,000 computers!
Computer Banc purchased a three building complex to better serve our expanding community of customers nationwide.
Computer Banc will continue to expand, providing thousands of more computers to Illinois communities and their at-risk populations.
